"Be the change that you wish to see in the world"

Mahatma Gandhi

I am David, an experienced Creative Graphic Designer

I'm very proud of my career history. And have been able to get involved in many projects and create great practical design solutions. I'm not afraid to try something new, applying my logical thinking and sometimes learn on the way. I like a challenge away from the 'norm' and to push the boundaries, to hopefully innovate and inspire others.

'Wriggle your big toe' - Hey, I survived Meningitis, so I trekked to Everest Base Camp in 2016, raising funds for two charities - the FHA and Nepal Earthquake appeal.

I know my strengths of Mind & Body

I understand my capabilities, skills, strengths and weaknesses. I have achieved excellence through hard work, perseverance and keeping an 'eye' on the detail. Making the decision to move jobs isn't easy or taken lightly, it's a choice sometimes to take time out and look for the next challenge, or to developed and grow as a person, always being creative and achieving more as a talented graphic designer and team collaborator.

"The journey of a thousand miles begins with one single step." Confucius

“It's really useful to travel, if you want to see new things.”
- Jules Verne, Around the World in 80 Days

Around the World in 30 days [2009]

My journey in one single step - I've enjoyed the planning and purchasing of a 'Round the World' ticket with seven stopovers. I said 'goodbye' to my friend at the airport check-in and apprehensively waved, then boarded the aeroplane, thinking 'what am I doing' [midlife / nervous]. And off I went to Tokyo, Japan via Helsinki Finland, Stop two Sydney, Australia. Stop three Auckland, New Zealand and on to stop four Tahiti in French Polynesia. Stop five to Rapa Nui in the middle of the beautiful yet vast Pacific Ocean. Step six onwards to Santiago, Chile and fly up to Lima in Peru.  And a second step - I had a week left, so I purchased three more internal flights one to Juliaca to cross off - Cusco and Machu Picchu, back to Juliaca then Puno at Lake Titicaca and finally to Arequipa 'the white city' to relax before the journey 'homeward bound' via Madrid, an epic 33 hour flight to a very cold, snow covered London and the UK. I learned so much about myself on this journey, mostly what I missed and now appreciate, some enlightenment, my strengths, dreams and talking to amazing people [more images in the Gallery].

China 2008 - [Olympic Year] - Beijing, Xian, Shanghai and Hong Kong

An amazing experience with my son Daniel [inspired by our TombRaider II adventures]. Seeing the historical sites, culture, art, sculpture, food, beautiful people, all with the 'eyes of the world' watching for the Olympic Games, no better time to visit this vast country. With colourful calligraphy, art & graphics, POS on an iconic backdrop of historical building. What a fantastic trip!

Flying from Heathrow with Cathay Pacific on a 747 Jumbo Jet to HKG, a quick transfer at HKG on to Beijing for an evening stroll around the Forbidden City Wall by first twilight. On the bucket list was to see the Great Wall of Badaling, Tiananmen Square, before going inside the Forbidden City. Next stop - Xian to marvel at the Terracotta Warriors with our personal tour guide, cycling on the city walls, and stepping on to the opposing Bell & Drum towers, street markets and various tours of souvenir factory's. Stop three - Shanghai to visit the famous french quarter with its tranquil Yuyuan Gardens and Shanghai Zoo. A quick ferry crossing of the Huangpu River to the Financial direct, and up the Pearl Tower to see the misty skyscrapers and take in night lit view of the Bund, seeing the boat illuminations reflect in the dark river waters. On to our final destination - Hong Kong for our last few days, just as 'Hurricane Nero' passed over, so we relaxed in the safety of the Eaton Hotel and its roof-top pool. One day left I need to escape outside, so by train & taxi to Lantau Island, up the 268 misty steps to see the huge 'Giant Buddha' and taking in the view of Hong Kong harbour with its traditional Junk boats and cruise ships. From the Peak we walked through parks and streets via central mid-level escalators returning from the top at the Peak.
